Faith & Pride

International Queer Christian Community

Faith & Pride is an English-speaking community in Amsterdam. It is a space where LGBTQIA+ people of faith, including asylum seekers, come together to experience God’s love, grow spiritually and find strength in each other. It has three main values: hospitality, sharing and experiencing faith together. Through food, song, prayer, fellowship and God's word, we celebrate the diversity of God’s love for us all.

What we do:

Our starting point is a monthly Community Gathering in Amsterdam. This will take place every second Saturday of the month, from 5.30 to around 8.30. Since we have graciously been offered a location with a kitchen by the Lutheran church, we will be cooking for people there. These meetings will be free to everyone, have activities to interact with each other, as well as bible readings, worship, and spiritual inspiration from our own pastor, Barbara Rogoski. We pray together, we sing together, we eat together, in Jesus's name.

There are three values at the core of this community church, and the foundation for our activities.

They are: Hospitality, Sharing and Experiencing Faith Together.

Because we wanted more, we have also started an online Praying Meeting. Once a month we meet online through Zoom and pray together. Boardmember Carine Umuhoza leads us through this service, but all present can participate. We pray for our families, by birth and chosen, for those who are sick and for those who are in need. But we also thank God for all the good things that have happened to us. The day of the Online Praying Meeting varies per month but is always a weekend night somewhere between two Community Gatherings. Actual date will be announced here and in the Faith & Pride WhatsApp group.

Once you have joined one of our Gatherings or Online Meetings, you can join the Community App on WhatsApp. In this group we share positive news and inspiration for our life as an LGBT person and a Christian. Also, you can always ask the group to pray for you when you need it. If there are events that are interesting to other people in the community, organised by us or others, this is also the place to share.

What's Next?

COMMUNITY GATHERING - 14 MARCH 2026

This coming Saturday, March 14^th at 17:30, we will have for our Faith & Pride theme: Count Your Blessings. We will share a warm meal together, have some meaningful discussions about our faith in English, hear some words about gratitude from the Bible, a sermon from our Rev. Barbara and a video lesson from the series The Chosen. It is a warm and safe space at the Lutheran church in Amsterdam where we meet as spiritual family to praise God and support each other in our faith journey

About Us

Faith & Pride is an English-speaking community church in Amsterdam. It is a space where LGBTQIA+ people of faith, including asylum seekers, come together to experience God’s love, grow spiritually and find strength in each other. It has three main values: hospitality, sharing and experiencing faith together. Through food, song, prayer, fellowship and God's word, we celebrate the diversity of God’s love for us all.

We started this community in 2025 with monthly meetings. We started this because a place like this did not exist yet in Amsterdam, but we looked for one. We wanted to share our faith, learn from each other, and grow through community. Many refugees are looking for a place like this as well, and with them, as well as other internationals and Dutch people, we started to make this place a reality. We believe this is in line with what Jesus wants his people to do – to build His Kingdom, with His people, and share as much of His love that we can. We call this Faith & Pride; an International Queer Christian Community.
